白油为无色透明油状液体，没有气味。白油为液体类烃类的混合物，主要成分为C16～C31的正异构烷烃的混合物，是自石油分馏的高沸馏分(即润滑油馏分)中经脱蜡、碳化、中和、活性白土精制等处理后而成。
